Taken from the Potter Marsh boardwalk in South Anchorage. This was a shot of the mountain range to the south of Anchorage as the sun broke through the clouds
Capturing a whole lot of light in this picture. STEVE, auroras, and light trails from a passing car. The moonlight to the right of this picture softly lighting the mountains and foreground.

A low to mid level KP was predicted for last night in South central Alaska. Luckily it ended up being more torwads the mid level forecast. This was taken along the banks of Bird creek as the tide was coming in from the Turnagain Arm.

Moon, Moon, Moon
Right now my daughter is really into Laurie Berkner band, My daughters favorite song from that band is Moon, Moon, Moon. Every time she sees this picture she starts to sing, "Moon, Moon, Moon.."
Light trail to Girdwood
Passing car heading to Girdwood, Alaska. Taken during our recent full moon
The last bit of sunshine slowly fading away leaving behind the beautiful colors
Looking down on us
Could this be the heavenly face of God looking down? Checking on the amazing landscape of Alaska.
The perfect view of the colors of the sunset as seen from right outside of Girdwood, Alaska.
Gate to Heavens
The clouds part to reveal the gateway to the heavens above.
Sunsets and sunrises in the month of January can be pretty amazing in Alaska, The sun rises around 10 in the morning and sets around 4 in the afternoon.
The view from the seward highways first rest stop. The chain link fence was installed last summer by the Alaska Railroad to keep people off of the tracks. Now this is the view that you see of the Turnagain arm.
This is the matching photo to "Opposite of Sunrise". This was taken a few minutes before, the reason for it being a little darker and more towards the blue hour. As the sun came up the sky went through a rapid change in color. Eventually turning the fire orange/red that I posted on previous pictures
Opposite of sunrise
This was taken during the amazing winter solstice sunrise. Instead of facing the sunrise I faced opposite direction. I think the view was still pretty amazing.
The sun rises with the incoming tide. I did some basic adjustments. I added a couple of gradient filters and a radient filter on the foreground
