Ursus arctos sitkensis
Alaskan Sitka Brown bear. Captured at the Fortress of Bears
If I can see them, then they can see me. I think I've been spotted.
This is the look of a bear that really doesn't want to be messed with.
Large brown bear in stealth mode waiting for food in the water
Captured this duck as it was coming back up from a dive. I ws able to capture the image of the ducks head encapsulated in a sheet of water
What are you looking at?
A male king eider staring at his reflection.
Rise and Shine
An older photo that I shot at Beluga Point. In this image I included more of the detailed snowy foreground
One of my pictures from earlier this winter. This is a shot of Girdwood during a full moon. I particular liked this image because of the reflection of the mountains on the receding tide of the Turnagain Arm.
The first light of the morning before the sun rises over the mountains. Taken at Portage lake, AK
Under the Ice
Standing on the only bare ice on Portage lake. The ice was so clear you can see the rocks and the current carrying debris and it flowed beneath my feet.
Girdwood at night as the tide is flows out. Alyeska ski resort is located to the left of the lights on the mountain
Girdwood in Perspective
The ski resort town of Girdwood/Alyeska is dwarfed by the massive landscape of a small section of Alaska. This panorama is a total of 19 vertical.
The Anchorage area was under a three day dense fog warning. The road from portage seemed to disappear.
A moment in time
The last two morning The Anchorage area has been under a dense fog alert. I went out this morning hoping that the sunrise would burn off the fog. All I came away with was a few moments in between clouds where I was able to capture some of the morning sunrise colors.
Look into Portage
Looking into Portage lake on a sunny morning this last autumn.
Across the water
Looking at the city of Anchorage, Alaska acroos the waters of Bootlegger's Cove.
Beluga Point, AK
Beluga point Alaska.
Potter Marsh, AK
Slow night for taking pictures. This is the best of the bunch because of the fog that decided to hang out all along Turnagain Arm
The journey into mystery. Where will the road take you?
On the ice
Standing on the first ice over of the year as I take photos of the cloudy sky. The northern lights and the stars hide behind the thin layers of clouds.
Another photo of Twenty mile river. The high clouds diffused the light from Anchorage and the northern lights. The milky way was peeking through the last bit of clear sky.
The light from the milky way, northern lights, and the city lights of Anchorage.
Show me the light
I've been working on old photos while I've been waiting for the winter snow to arrive. This shot was taken at my favorite spot, 20 mile river. I shot this last year around august.
Sunrise at Beluga Point last winter. Wanted to work on this scene with my improved skills at processing and developing
