    Waiting

My warm sanctuary away from the brutal cold sub-zero temperatures. It was a pretty amazing night on March 6, 2021. The auroras were shinning throughout the night. Which made for a long night in the cold. The temperature, according to my trucks thermometer was -16F. That temperature is before windchill is factored in. This was shot just off the Glenn Highway a few miles south of Eureka Roadhouse, Alaska.

The view this morning, February 2nd, from the bluff near Point Woronzof, Anchorage, Alaska. This was shot around 2:30am. I made the unfortunate mistake of leaving a better aurora viewing spot near the Knik River. While the data looked good, I didn't think it would materialize into anything before I had to go home for the night. Of course on my drive back home the aurora show took off. I guess i can't get them all.

Usually I wait for the vehicle to pass so that the light from the headlight doesn't mess up my shot. I wanted to try something different.
