I hiked Skyscraper peak trail for the first time today. I've been wanting to do it for a couple of years now. Just could never work up the nerve to tackle the climb. Being scared of heights makes any mountain climb a lot more challenging.
Another interesting find that caught my eye while hiking Winner creek trail. I found it interesting because of all of the plant life that calls the base of this tree home. As i was crouched down I was amazed at the detail of all the tiny plants.
My first thought when I came across this image was crime scene. There was the one downed tree laying all alone, dead in the clearing. The trees all around the clearing looked like spectators looking on in horror.
This is the spot where I ended my hike. The emergency alert system kept notifying me that a new wildfire had just started in my area. They were issuing mandatory evacuations for people near the wildfire. Fortunately I was not anywhere near the Malaspina evacuation zone.
Hiking shotgun trail/ Emerald Cove trail. discovered this hidden waterfall at the top of a rock cliff. This small waterfall flowed over the cliff to create a larger waterfall.. I shot this handheld while laying on my stomach. The leaf at the top of the image is cow parsnip. I was careful not to touch it because the oils from the plant can cause a rash when sunlight hits the skin.
