I saw this spot as I was looking at the map, planning where I was going to shoot before leaving the house this morning. I knew that I wanted to shoot the light from the sunrise as it illuminated the clouds behind this mountain. After three hours of waiting and watching I finally got my moment. This is a 3 image panorama shot at Portage Lake.
I captured just before the light from the sunrise cleared the clouds. The temperature was 42 degrees. You can see that there was no snow on the ground. Very unusual for the area of Alaska.
A quick shot at the end of the blue hour on Seward highway. I was hoping for a more brilliant sunrise. Unfortunately, it didn't happen.
