Ink caps in my backyard. This has been one of the rainiest August I can ever remeber in Anchorage, Alaska. We have had one day of sunshineso far this month. The mushrooms are loving the weather. Many of the yards are filled with various types of mushrooms.
At one point I used to know the name of this plant. Looking down at the plant it feels as if you are looking into one of those spirals the use for hypnotizing

Going back over some of my older photos from last summer. With my camera being out for a small repair I have more time to do some editing.
The beginning of wildflower season. Lupine are blooming along Turnagain Arm.
The beginning of the dahlia season in my garden. This year i have mostly the dinerplate dahlias in hot pink, purple, and orange.
While hiking in Whittier, Alaska I noticed this patch of what i think is Asiatic Pennywort. The sun was starting to set to my left, creating this band of light across the patch. The vibrant green, with the lights and darks made for an interesting composition.
