This was the most beautiful sunset shot out of the series. Unfortunately I was only able to stay here a few minutes. Behind me were multiple large stagnant pools of water. I like to call them mosquitoe hatcheries. I only had a few minutes here before I was swarmed. That will teach me to always bring the repellent.
In the background is Independence mine. When it was operatioinal gold was mined. Now it's just a state park historical site. The cabin in the foreground is the "Historic Lynch cabin" Circa 1930. It sits about halfway from the independence mine to the nameless lake that is at the end of Gold Cord trail.
